Happy New Year everybody. As we’re all winding down from holidays and getting back to work, it’s also time to start thinking about CryptoParty again.
I’m pleased to announce that CryptoParties have started up in Tokyo (Twitter: @CryptoTokyo) and Oahu (Twiter: @OahuCryptoParty). Tokyo is going to have a planning meeting soon, and is planning to host their first meetup (including real speakers!) in late February. More on that as it develops.
I’ve also started up a Facebook group page. As I’ve already stated in a post there, I realize that using Facebook to promote an event about online privacy is more than a little counter-intuitive, but Facebook is good at spreading news and helping people organize, so I’m happy to use it for that. If nothing else, it can be a signpost to direct interested Facebook users to the CryptoParty idea, and they can choose how they want to communicate from there.
The first Nagoya CryptoParty, in the meantime, will be decided on soon. Details will be posted once they’re finalized.
